OLD BUSINESS

Christmas Party: Can not be held in the main lodge, but Bryan Reightley was able to talk with Ranger Dave and has confirmed that we can use the administration building for the party. This is the building right in front of the lodge and should handle our rambunctious group. Thanks Bryan!

Party will be 12-3-2016 at 3:00pm

Northwest Model Hobby Expo is coming up at the end of January the 27th thru the 29th. The club will have a booth and a selling table.

Ron Swift has been working with a FPV group to demonstrate at the EXPO with races and some events.

A few guys were out at the field a couple of weeks ago and talking about the field, membership and the way to get new membership. While thinking about FPV and all it entails, Bryan and Mark kicked around the idea of adding a dedicated FPV area on the other side of the barn in the lower pasture. It will be interesting to see the FPV demo at the EXPO and see if it is something worth perusing of feasible.

2nd round of officer nominations for 2017 officers started: (See New Business)

There was discussion about how to get members to Volunteer for office. Tim made a motion to change the bylaws to reduce the Boards membership due by 50%, after discussion the motion was tabled until next meeting, Ron and Tim will come up with a reworded proposal for the next meeting.

NEW BUSINESS

We held the 3rd annual Family and Friends Christmas party at the Camp Edwards Administration Building. We had 17 in attendance, a nice turn out and plenty for the facility we had. Once again, a very special thanks to the Camp Edwards Leaders and Rangers. Ron and Ron were sent pictures and if you have more please forward them on.

Ron and Chet presented the Sky Valley Food Bank our check for $500.00 and we received a really appreciative thank you from the staff and the Leadership there. A picture is out in the newsletter.

Ron Swift received a 15 year Gold Leader Plaque, Badges and a letter from the AMA. This is a real accomplishment for any Club. We really stand out with this.

As Chet stated in the newsletter, the President and Vice President offices have a 3 year term limit. Chet stated that his term is up and his reflections are: “There has been so much achieved that I couldn’t be prouder to be part of the Club and all the efforts made. My personal contribution is literally pale compared to the many members that made this club the best around. 3 years ago we visited a wet, marshy, couldn’t drive in soggy field with a relatively high water table. Look at where we are at now….WOW”!!

Bryan Reightley gave a recap of the last 3 years of the club fields and how we have arrived at our new home.  Thanks Bryan for all you have done to acquire this great facility.

Mark presented a summary of 2016 [field development] accomplishments, 13 events,  lots of projects completed. Thanks to all that participated.

NW Model Hobby Expo will be held January 27th thru 29th. We will have a booth and a sign up sheet will be at the next meeting [January 10th].

Field is very wet, but parking and pit are is in great shape. Mark and Chet were able to drive to south end of parking without any issues. It really is a nice change.
