Safety Officer – “We are safe” there were no issues either at the night fly or the last lake event. Good Job!
Newsletter Editor - Printed copies of the newsletter are available for anyone who wishes a hard copy. Ron asks that if people take pictures to please send copies to him and Ron Rueter, for possible newsletter/website usage.
Field Manager – Chet noticed gravel being drug onto the field in pit area, we might look into placing a border to keep rocks out of the grass. (spring time)
We has our first ever multirotor-lympics. Small but a great learning tool for future Multirotor events and maybe even FPV races. It was not as easy as we all thought it would be.
Second Floats and Boats event was canceled due to the decision of “Chet” because of extreme rainy weather forecast…. That did not happen. Event moved to next week-end and was great!
Second night fly event was short lived once the rain hit, but if you would have waited around the rain stopped stars came out and a great night.
There’s an AMAZING amount of hard work, input and determination to keep this Club top notch.
Christmas party was discussed, Bryan reported that the kitchen at the lodge is being remodeled and the lodge might not be available for us to use this year. Looking to having the party at Alfy’s or maybe at the Boy Scout lodge. More to come as we find out.
Jay has aluminum grating for the flight stations if and when we want to use them. They are in the barn at the north end.
As stated “we’re and work in progress” and this year it really showed much to the efforts of Len and Brian Douma, Dart Sharp, Jay Bell and Mark Weeks. These few with various assistants have made major efforts in “Lost Plane Lane, Parking lot expansion, Dart Sharp, Steve Anderson, Vince Bell, Jay Bell, Mark Weeks, and Robin Maas readied the parking area, spread the road underlayment material, Dart drove most of the day on his day off and delivered 111.23 TONS of crushed rock to fill in the parking area and thru the pits. Dart secured his daily ride for a special employee discount, and offered his driving skills. There is an AMAZING amount of hard work, input and determination to keep this Club top Notch!
It’s been a busy summer but a fun one.
Nominations for 2017 officers started:
ERMA is holding their auction Sunday November 6th and the Marysville Boys and Girls Club.
This Club and its members ROCK! Dart was able to deliver 2 more loads of crushed rock to finish the gravel plan for this year. It looks fantastic. Chet was at the field during heavy rain and stood in the pits with dry toes!! Of course as the gravel gets packed in it will change somewhat but that’s what field maintenance is all about.
Christmas Party: Can not be held in the main lodge, but Bryan Reightley was able to talk with Ranger Dave and has confirmed that we can use the administration building for the party. This is the building right in front of the lodge and should handle our rambunctious group. Thanks Bryan!
Party will be 12-3-2016 at 3:00pm
ERMA held their auction Sunday November 6th and the Marysville Boys and Girls Club. A few members went and bought some items. Its great we can support another club.
Chet and Ron plan to deliver the $500.00 check to the Sky Valley Food Bank Friday the 11th.
Northwest Model Hobby Expo is coming up at the end of January the 27th thru the 29th. The club will have a booth and a selling table.
Ron Swift has been working with a FPV group to demonstrate at the EXPO with races and some events.
A few guys were out at the field a couple of weeks ago and talking about the field, membership and the way to get new membership. While thinking about FPV and all it entails Bryan and Mark kicked around the idea of adding a dedicated FPV area on the other side of the barn in the lower pasture. It will be interesting to see the FPV demo at the EXPO and see if it is something worth perusing of feasible.
Nominations for 2017 officers started:
There was discussion about how to get members to Volunteer for office. Tim made a motion to change the bylaws to reduce the Boards membership due by 50%, after discussion the motion was tabled until next meeting, Ron and Tim will come up with a reworded proposal for the next meeting.
Program: Ron Swift, brought his new copy of Real Flight Quad’s simulator to show and members to try. The software is $118.00, much less than a lost or crashed Quad. It seems to be worth the investment. The red reset button works very well. He had also heard of a freeware simulator that works with the interlink controller.
Thanks for sharing!
A motion was made and passed to adjourn the meeting. Meeting adjourned at 7:45pm
